Stage 1: Planning Approval

The first step in the Approval process be lodging for Planning Approval with the Local Council. Most Council’s will require a set of drawings showing a Site plan, Floor plan and Elevations. They will also require a preliminary Engineering plan to show stormwater runs and a Survey of the existing Site.

Stage 2: Building Rules Consent

After Planning approval is granted, it’s time to move onto Building Approval. This will involve submitting detailed Drawings and Full engineering to a Building consultant at Council.

Another faster method is to submit to a Private certifier who will review all the detail and ensure it meets the relent Building code criteria.

Once full Development Approval is received you are ready to commence on site. This is the combination of Planning Approval, Building Rules Consent and Land Division Approval.
